About Nurse Dotty Books
Hello, my name is Molly, and I am the author/illustrator of Nurse Dotty Books and a registered children’s nurse in the UK.
​
Nurse Dotty Books started back in 2019 when I was working as a nurse in a Paediatric Intensive Care Unit. It actually started years before this when I would write small individual stories for the children I was looking after to help them understand their journey and the scary environment of the intensive care unit; but in 2019 I created the character of Nurse Dotty.
Since then, Nurse Dotty has been the focus of a number of different books and resources aimed at helping to alleviate anxiety for children and their families and has even been lucky enough to receive a number of awards.
Points Of Light Award (2020), Independent Happy List Covid Heroes (2020), Inspirational Awards for Women (2020), Patient Care Innovation Award (2021), The King’s New Year Honours List (2023).
